So driving from dropping off one of the kids at school I heard on Z96.3 I think it was the Kidd Kraddick show or something. I don't get caught up in details I have no plans to tune in everyday. They were discussing how watching dark dreary programing and obsessing over the "evil" so to speak in the news is bad for one's soul. That Hollywood glorifies bad guys by giving them a story like Dexter and Breaking Bad. I have never seen the shows but what started the topic was the discussion of the decade long kidnappings. I am also unfamiliar with this as I think there has just been too much for that story in a bad odd sort of way. The guy who mentioned Mc Donald's and now he will be famous for who knows what, but that did it for me.
Back to the point, one gentleman said he does not want to be exposed to such negativity and that he wishes the best for the victims. Then in chimes the retched voice(I have a thing about the way she talks but do not know who she is) she continued to discuss events about the kidnapping situation, I had to change the channel. Now here is what I am getting at, do we need a Dexter or a real Robin Hood. Have things gotten so bad that some kind of "darkening of the soul" will be the thing to set people right? Prisons are over crowded and punishments no longer outweigh crimes. Will it take someone with nothing to loose to fix what we have obviously broken? People do these horrid things we see on the news because they have nothing to fear.
I am not saying run out and watch every episode of Dexter in some vigilantly training that would be stupid. I am just ranting and thinking something has to change.
